Grade deflation: CGS & SMG?

Just wondering if people who have been in either program or know for a fact if either of those colleges have rampant grade deflation. I know it may be a rumor, but I am just curious to know if anyone has any experiences or if it holds true to these schools…

rampant. no. grade deflation, yes.

in SMG it is visible. 0 to 1 students will get an A in certain classes. You do A quality work and get a B+. Class Avg at B-. Some professors go against it and really set big curves so that grades have an even distribution, but yes in my 2 semesters at SMG- grade deflation is here.

grade deflation at CGS..psh is that a joke?

I'm in SMG and I've never seen grade deflation. As a freshman my grades were meh because I was adjusting and getting used to college work. As I got older and starting taking classes I was really interested in, they got increasingly better. Junior year I start getting A's and my GPA has jumped significantly.

It's not grade deflation, it's adjusting to a difficult course load

I don't mean to jump on this particular poster but haven't there been enough threads about this that even the most cursory search would generate enough reading material to fill hours? I used to post on this topic but from now on my comment is: "See the little box at upper right called 'search this forum'?"
