Do you think this is a really, really big problem at Davidson?

I've read that Davidson is "intense" and "stressful" while putting a lot of pressure on its students. Do you think this is an accurate discription of the atmosphere?

Do you think grade deflation is a major factor in grad school admissions? I mean, wouldn't they want someone with a higher GPA?

I remember asking that same question...I definitely think you earn your grades at Davidson, there aren't curves or bonus points. I think that grade deflation is a misnomer, instead it is the lack of inflation found at many other schools. Academics at Davidson will definitely be a challenge, college is supposed to be =) I would say that the students are challenged and that can be pressure, but they also have a lot of fun and participate in tons of extracurriculars, and yes parties.
As for graduate schools, Davidson is highly reguarded and the lower GPA that comes in from a Davidson grad would be looked on more highly than a higher GPA from another institution - or so I have been told by a few grad schools.

Hope it helps =)
