Grade differences between calc and linear alg?

I have had heard from numerous people that Linear Algebra is not a very demanding course compared to Calculus. My question is, did you receive a better grade in Linear Algebra than you did in Calculus?

yup. multivariable calc was one of the hardest classes i’ve taken, whereas linear algebra wasn’t even close

Well, in essence you’re comparing algebra to calculus. Which do you think is more challenging? lol

I did better in Linalg and felt Linalg was generally easier as it involved matrices and operations on them. However, Linalg is also potentially the first class where you may do somewhat rigorous mathematical proofs. This alone makes it harder than multivariable calc for some people.

Well to some people proofs may make it easier to understand. For In my calc 3 class there were hardly any proofs (mostly intuitive I guess) so i felt as if I was memorizing formulas and just using them. Calc 3 deals with a lot of 3d stuff so you have to be good or get used to the visually weird 3D functions and drawing them not counting the basics ones like sphere , hyperboloid , etc .

My linear algebra class was definitely harder than the multivariable class. But the awesome curve in linear algebra gave me an A… whereas I got a B in multivariable because were was no curve.

I had the same grade in in both classes: A.
