<p>Just out of curiosity, does northwestern have a reputation for grade inflation or deflation? I know privates like Harvard are notorious for its inflation and schools like Princeton and UChicago have deflation. Also, which majors have the most inflating/deflating gpas?</p>
<p>Overall, NU is pretty decent…neither deflation nor inflation.</p>
<p>I’d say the grading is pretty fair. There’s references to the ‘NU smiley face’ though, if you’re natural sciences–refers to the track your GPA takes through your four years.</p>
