Grade Inflation

…easiest and hardest grades. (not sure this is a good thing to post or not)

This turns up every now and then and is probably true. However, grad schools know what they are dealing with and accept on that basis. I don’t know if med schools and law schools are as understanding - nor if parents are.

Does this mean that a school like Auburn has many less capable students enrolled in hard classes? Since it is so hard to get into Harvard, I don’t expect huge numbers of kids getting weeded out. If this is true, then high Auburn grades are not tougher to get - it’s just that more lower grades are handed out to the less capable students.

^^But the list doesn’t just have schools on it that are easy to get into. Cal State Fullerton and Harvey Mudd are at opposite ends of the spectrum, and there are tons of less competitive schools that aren’t on the list. Alabama isn’t on the list, and their admission stats are very similar to Auburn’s. Seems like there are a number of science/engineering majors at AU, and maybe those classes don’t churn out as many A’s as the psych/art/history majors.
