I submitted (the deed is already done…) rec letters from my math teacher and English teacher. My counsellor told me to submit my math teacher’s to every school bc apparently it was really nice and had a personal perspective, and for the second I was initially planning on submitting history but then changed to English bc I just felt like what my English teacher knows about me/can say about me would be more appropriate/fit better into context than my history teacher for this application. In other words, by all means I felt like I should submit English rec letter over history so I did it.
But thinking about it now, I’m slightly concerned about that bc my graded paper is history. I already submitted the application (the Common App part, not the paper yet) so I can’t change the rec letter submission, and I can’t really change the graded paper either even I didn’t submit it yet. I wasn’t particularly good at English (but I tried really hard and that’s why I submitted my English teacher’s letter over history’s) but I was good at history so my history paper is much better and shows my skills better overall (it’s closest to my latest skill level I guess).
Does it matter at all that I’m submitting a history paper for the graded paper but not submitting a history rec letter? Am I worrying about something that doesn’t even matter?
“Am I worrying about something that doesn’t even matter?”
Yes. It truly doesn’t matter. Try to relax. Good luck!
@sherpa Thanks for the reassurance!!
