Grades and graduate economics/business school?

I am thinking about pursuing a PhD in economics or getting an MBA after working for a few years. Currently, I am a rising sophomore in college and an economics (honors)/mathematics double major. The grades for my majors are as follows:

Principles of Economics: A
Honors Microeconomics: B+

Calculus II: A
Multivariable Calculus: A

I was doing well in my honors microeconomics class, but did poorly on the final and ended up with a B+. The course is considered to by many to be one of the most difficult courses in my college. Some of my friends said that a B+ in a class for my major will greatly hurt my chances of getting into a graduate school, so I am a bit nervous right now. Will this hurt my chances for getting into a top economics/business program, and if so, should I retake the class? Thanks.

I doubt it’s worth the trouble. I don’t think classes like that are too important. Apparently, getting an A in Real Analysis and proving you can do difficult math is far more important for PhD admissions. Grades from freshman year rarely matter very much (unless they’re horrible, and a B+ is anything but horrible).

No, especially when you have so many more courses to add to your GPA and as preparation.
