Grades problem?

Hello. I am new to the site so I didn't really know exactly where to post this....But I have a question.

Will a college give me a chance if they see that I have changed?

To explain properly: I have had chronic depression for a very long time and it has affected (effected?) my grades in the long run.
My Freshman year and Sophomore year grades are....horrid. I know I obtained a D- in at least 2 subjects and the rest was very mediocre.
In Sophomore year I obtained at least 2 D-'s again. and the rest were C's and B's. Maybe one A?

Will colleges change their minds when they see that I have achieved all A+'s in all my subjects Junior and Senior year? And I start involving myself in clubs (speech) and the community (volunteering) and joined a sport or two (swimming this coming year and cross-country (fall) and track (spring), with swimming next year)? And perhaps they would overlook my...past? Also, I will be taking around 3 AP classes as well. I also have worked part time sense the beginning of Sophomore year. And senior year I will be taking a Pre-Pharmacy type of class that my local college-like-education center or whatnot provides.

I am not going to beat around the bush like most people do: I am smart. I can memorize something in a matter of minutes. All A+'s is not a big deal to me with a little bit of effort put fourth. So please take my future "aspirations" into a clear cut and set "plan" please. Thank you. (I'm not meaning to come off as so brash, sorry, but I need to get my point across clearly)

I know it is a long shot, but I cannot; however much I want to, go back and change my past. But will colleges give me a chance?

Thank you for all the help,
Chessur

Yes, upward correlation is taken into consideration. You can get into a college/ uni for sure if you get all A’s junior and senior year. *please note getting an A+ in an AP class is rediculous! If a college saw that they would totally undermind your schools rigour. Just work hard! Good luck.

Thank you for the fast reply. I am not headed for a top college, not at all, but I do want to assure myself a place in “A” college. All I need is ROTC and double major though. Thank you, again. You have inadvertently put my worries to rest.

Oh and I’ll keep the A+ for the AP classes in mind.

Yes, a significant upward trajectory will be viewed VERY favorably. That, combined w your strong ECs, demonstrate you are a high-achieving student. A strong SAT/ACT
will lend further support of your capability.

Admissions readers LOVE “turnaround” stories. Do not sell yourself short at this point. You seem like a very competitive candidate. Good luck!
