Is there an A+ in Cornell?
If A is the highest, I am sure it is a 4.0
Then, what is the grade point for an A-? for a B+? B? B-?.....?

For each + add 0.33 to the base grade. For each - subtract 0.33 to the base grade. The highest you can get is a 4.33.

no, the highest you can get is 4.3. it's 4.3 for A+ (i got one this semester) and A- is 3.7, same for B+ and B- (3.3, and 2.7) and so on.

Any idea of what the average GPA is at Cornell? Or does it differ significantly from college to college?

So is it 1/3, .33 or .3 or what?

I know for a fact you can get A+'s because I did during the summer. . .I think the grades are the whole numbers, and you add or subract .3 for pluses or minuses.

averages depend on college i believe. top 30% usually make dean's list. for engineering, you only need a 3.4, for CAS, depending on credit, anywhere from 3.5-3.8, and HUMEC 3.7 regardless of # of credits.

Dean's list requirements for Arts and Sciences

Minimum 12 Letter Credits
No failing grades (i.e., F, U, UX)*
No grade C- or lower
Minimum GPA Required:
12 Credits --- 3.80 or higher
13 or 14 credits --- 3.70 or higher
15 or 16 credits --- 3.60 or higher
17 or more credits --- 3.50 or higher

A+ = 4.3 A = 4.0 A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3 B = 3.0 B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.3 C = 2.0 C- = 1.7
D+ = 1.3 D = 1.0 D- = 0.7
F = 0
