I'm a current freshman, pre-pharm, majoring in MolTox. So far, my major is great and I love being in CNR. I planned out my schedule, and getting out in 3 years is completely feasible. However, I was looking into Microbial Biology and it looks really neat too. I might be interested in double-majoring. Does anyone know which would be better for pharmacy school? Or any advice in general? I really want to go to UCSF (Haha), so I intend to do undergrad research and a few extracurriculars along the way.

If financial costs aren’t an issue, I would recommend staying all four years (regardless of whether you want to double major or not). You are only in college once so you should make the most out of it!

I planned out my schedule so many times as a freshman, and realized that I could graduate in two years with a BA in my major. But, where would be the fun in that? I would only be taking classes to graduate, and not be spending time actually immersing myself in the subject and learning everything I could/wanted to from it. I decided to do a double major to fill up the rest of my time, and then became interested in a few other areas which subsequently became my two minors (and a whole lot of elective courses). In addition, a lot of the campus jobs/internships/club officer positions aren’t available until sophomore/junior year, and so I didn’t want to leave before I got a chance to really experience all that college has to offer. I don’t regret staying here for all four years at all, and, faced with the decision again, I would definitely pick staying.

^ I second that. I think the main concern is really the financial portion. If you’re okay with all four years, then I think it’d be worth it to double.
