Graduate makes $1 million gift to the new center for character and leadership develop

<p>Colorado Springs, Colo. – The USAFA Endowment is pleased to announce, on behalf of the U.S. Air Force Academy, a major gift in support of one of the Academy’s top-priority projects. William E. Wecker, Class of 1963, and his wife, Mary Linn, recently committed $1 million towards the construction of the new Center for Character and Leadership Development.</p>

<p>“We are incredibly grateful for this generous gift, which will help advance the core mission of our Academy,” said Bart Holaday, Chairman of the USAFA Endowment. “Bill and Mary Linn are wonderful examples of the vision and generosity we seek to promote for future generations of graduates.”</p>

<p>The new Center will integrate the Academy’s character and leadership development programs into all aspects of the cadet experience.</p>

<p>“The decision to support the Center was an easy one for Mary Linn and me,” said William Wecker. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to support these important programs that prepare the young men and women at the Academy to be leaders of character for our nation.”</p>
