I recently graduated from college with a degree in Molecular Biosciences/Biotechnology (I took 3 years instead of 4), and my GPA was 3.58/4.00. I graduated from the honors college, which means that I had to do an honors thesis for my bachelors degree (I did mine on bipolar disorder).

I want to apply for a graduate program in California (hopefully close to LA area). I am thinking either psychology (possibly PhD, with training in counseling so that I can do that as well as therapies, research, etc) or nutrition (masters or PhD).

But I don't really know what schools the state has and which are very competitive and which not so much. I also have to make sure that I apply only to schools that offer fellowships (waive tuition and offer some stipend upon admission to the program) because I don't want to take loans and have to have a way to support myself. I am trying my best to do my research on my own but I don't know which schools might be a reach and which might be safety for me. I'm going to take my GRE soon and I have a feeling that I'll do excellent on the math (and possibly writing), but not so great on the vocab/reading (I am studying hard to get the best score I can). English is not my first language so vocab and sometimes writing are weaknesses I need to work on.

Any suggestions for graduate schools I should look into?
