Hi all, I am a freshman at NYU interested in graduating a year early and taking a gap year before medical school.

According to similar threads, graduating a year early is discouraged, but it is still something I need to do because of financial reasons.

I have always been a strong student and am confident that graduating early will not hurt my GPA. Of course, I would be involved with work/research over the gap year.

I'm asking for advice from graduates who have already been admitted to medical schools after three years of undergrad and a gap year (NYU alumni preferred but others welcome) or from graduates who are currently in their gap year.

Thanks so much!
