So..., I have been to 3 different colleges/universities so far. My stats are hardly average.
I had a rough start at a small univeristy in Maryland and left with a 1.6 gpa after 2 years. Moved to California and took classes at the local Community Colleges part-time for 2 years. My gpa was 1.9 for 24 credits at one college and 4.0 for 6 credits at the other. Moved back to Maryland and am currently attending Community College and have 3.0 gpa now. I have switched my major from Biology to Criminal Justice to Physics, so I have a great variety of classes and 90+ credits.
I received my AA in Arts & Sciences last semester so I could transfer and have since gotten rejected from 5 out of 10 universities that I applied to. I'm still taking classes at the college and have only been accepted to one school.... and I'm sure it was because of legacy status. I thought that colleges liked to see improvement and dedication. I did bad my first couple years due to family being ill and passing away and mentioned it in all the applications. I have repeated many tough classes, where as others gave up after the second try. I am passionate about my major and have done a couple government internships at well known places.
I graduated high school in 2009 with gpa 3.4 and no AP classes. I can't stay at this college anymore because I'm already maxed out on credits. I just need a decent university to transfer to and get a degree. Any help/suggestions are appreciated. If anyone else was in a similar situation and succeeded, please tell me.

I think you should go where you got accepted. You have improvement, but only from a very rocky position. Your overall record sounds like more bad than good. Great grades in 2 classes doesn’t undo such a large amount of sub 2.0 work. Just focus on doing well wherever you are able to end up and get a degree. Stop taking more classes you are accumulating too many units!

^I agree. Your record, although it’s better for the past few classes, has more bad than good. (Colleges like to see improvement, in the sense they like people to go from 3.0 to 3.5 to 3.8…) Go where you’ve been admitted and work very hard, take advantage of the Writing center, math center, etc.
