So lately I've been thinking about how graduating early is going to affect me and getting into pharmacy school. Since I'll be graduating in December, that means I'll be 1 semester ahead of schedule. The pharmacy school I want to get into ( And possibly every other one ) has you apply during spring. If I follow the pre-pharm curriculum, I'll be done a semester early, and will have to wait another to actually get into the Pharmacy school.

So, the question here is would spacing out my schedule so that it fits those 2 and half years look bad? Or should I use that semester to work at a pharmacy(I'll already have 2 and a half years of experience by then)?

Are you planning to start college in January? Have you been accepted? I wouldn’t worry about being a semester ahead - most prepharms are overloaded for their first two years and this could work to your advantage as you won’t have to sweat getting into the sequential courses you need quite as much. Also, it may help you to maintain a high gpa if you can space out your requirements a bit more. And don’t forget about the time and effort you’ll need to gain pharmacy experience and study for the PCAT!

Pharmacy schools usually start accepting apps in summer/fall for the following year as there are rounds of interviews which often last until early spring…don’t know which school you’re looking at but you might want to check the PharmCAS site for application information. Applying in spring for the following fall, if that’s what you mean, would be much too late.
