Best way to deal with this sentence? --->
The media report the lies, they say it is because they are newsworthy.
a) leave it as is
b) delete it
c) change report to verify
d) change they say it's because to saying that
e) change they are newsworthy to it is newsworthy.

the answers d and I got that but shouldn't out be "reports" along with d? I have the 2005 addition, and I wish there were online answers to this book.

Strictly speaking, “media” is plural. The singular is “medium.” So a plural verb goes with “media.”

Many usage experts call that usage optional, except when “media” refers to multiple kinds of artistic media, such as paint, clay, and so on.

D) because it’s a comma splice right now, featuring two independent clauses combined only with a comma.

Thanks guys. Now I know it’s “the medium reports”.
