Grammar

They do want you to come.

They is the subject.
do is the auxilary verb.
Want is the main verb
You is the object.
To come is an infinitive. Is it a noun, adject.,or adver. ? AND what is its role ?

Is ''to come'' the indirect object ?

Why are you mapping sentences? I still don’t exactly know what many grammatical terms mean, yet my SAT grammar score is where I want it to be :).

I think the most effective way to learn SAT grammar is through a review of theory and then practice. If you don’t know the theory by heart, that’s fine - I don’t either - and the SAT doesn’t ask for sentence diagrams.

Still, I applaud your effort for going the extra mile to get the theory down pat :)!

^ I am not mapping for the SAT;in fact, this has nothing to do with the SAT.( My WR is now in 700s (jumped from 500s to 700s in a week) so I dont care about SAT)
When I was a kid, I hated grammar like my as*. However, I dont hate it now; in fact, it just makes me curious and this is why I like to map grammatical sentences(curiosity).

^ Congratulations on the huge jump :)!

One question: What do you think helped you the most?

Thank you.Youre tips were extremely helpful.

Well to be honest, there are books called English ESL grammar by mark lester and the only grammar guide youll ever need by susan thurman, these books helped me in that huge jump. For me, that jump is pretty amazing since I didnt touch a grammar book for more than 5 years and I am not a native english speaker. Before reading these books,I didnt even know what sub-verb agree. meant. Then came barrons followed by the practice tests. I did about 3 WR sections and kept analyzing my mistakes.

I will have read silverturtles guide( a pretty amazing guide) in 4 days then I am confident (hopefully) 800 will be on the way.

CR is my downfall, but I will practice a lot till I ace it.
