Grandfather on faculty a legacy?

My daughter's grandfather (my dad) was a Dept. Chair at Barnard, and also taught at Columbia. Would this count as a legacy when my daughter applies to Barnard? Thanks!

No. If he still has contacts there it could help, but profs who are not currently powerful at any selective college have trouble getting their own kids in.

If he didn’t graduate from Barnard, then no.
