<p>If you get a federal grant, and you still need extra money, can you also apply for a loan to go with it? Like, can they both be used together? This may seem like a silly question, but it popped into my head when my mom and I were discussing college yesterday and I figured someone might know the answer.</p>
<p>Yes. All students eligible to file the FAFSA will be considered for Pell Grant based on income. Those students can also take out Federal Direct Loans once they fill out FAFSA. You would arrange that with your college or the college may put that in your financial package as part of affording the school.
