<p>Hey to all those who are current students at Amherst, one of my major deciding factors between Amherst and another school is if grants or funding is readily available to students for research. This past summer my sister who goes to ND received a grant from the Kellog Foundation to teach in Namibia for Teach for America. Have students at Amherst had similar experiences where they were given money to go do research or work for an organization?</p>
<p>Yes they do offer grant money. The community center for engagement will give current students grants to work summer internships that are public interest/non-profit type. They also have research grants for students to enrich their research. I have received both of these, so I can verify they do actually give them out in practice, not just in theory.</p>
