Grants refund, graduate in dec.

Hi Guys, just joined this forum today and hope everyone is doing great. I had a question regrading the pell grant and
grants and scholarships in general. Since I am still planning a course of action, my question is hypothetical.
During august of every year my school sends me an email telling me that I qualify for a pell grant and a ton of other scholarships for the coming year. Let us say that I graduate in December of a certain year. What happens to the other half of the allocated grant/scholarship money? Do I get ALL of the grant money allocated for the spring semester as a refund?
How does it work out?
Thank you for your replies.

No. Half the funds are applied to the fall, and the rest is just never issued. Sometimes you can get all the loan money for the fall semester

In PA if you qualify for PHEAA grant, I think you can petition to receive the full year grant if you graduate a semester early.

If you borrow loans and graduate in December, your loans will be prorated based on your enrollment. Sometimes that causes a loss of semester eligibility (although sometimes it can result in more eligibility for that semester, if you have a lot of credits).
