Is it better to stay at Granville Towers or at the other on campus housing (probably Cobb) freshman year?

If you’re a freshman, you cannot stay at Cobb. It’s a Sophmore LLC.

People will tell you different things, but I’ll give you my take.

I lived in Granville one year and on South campus another. TBH, I hated my time at Granville. Perhaps it was the crowd (primarily Greek/upper-Class white). Their renovated rooms are definitely nice, but I found the experience extremely isolating, since you’re essentially forced into their meal-plan, thus missing out on the bigger dining halls on campus that the majority of the other first years will be at. Even though you might not get Cobb, I’d choose Hinton James over Granville any day.
