Is it absolutely necessary to buy a graphing calculator for the math 20 series??? I'm a management science and will be only taking 4 math classes, 20abc and linear algebra. Do I need a graphing calculator to get a decent grade or will I get a C or lower without one?

yes, you'll definitely be needing one.

don't even question it :)

of course, you could always buy a used one/resell it afterward. i've been using mine since 2000, i know my way around it better than any other calculator.

I wouldn't say absolutely necessary... I don't even own one and I had no trouble with the 20 series. It may make it easier, but not having one isn't going to get you a C...

ok so I decided I am going to get one but first
Does SD have any like renting system?? (i know the answer to this one - no lol)

ok so which one should I get?? I'm not going to be a math major so I dont really need a advanced one. Will a TI-84 series or 83 series be enough for my math classes?? or should I need a TI-89 or higher??

I have the TI-83 PLUS (Got this like couple years ago) and it works just fine. It's really easy to use as well. I would not get anything above the 83/84 series because although there are more functions on the calculator, it's a lot harder and more complicated to use. The TI-83/84 would be sufficient and, it's cheaper. That's always good, isn't it?

well i have a TI-86; should i just buy another one?

86 is adequate but the 83/84 are better. (86 is a slightly older version but has many similiar fundamental functions and commands) I used an 86 for AB and I had no problem, albeit I did miss my tetris : (
