GRE Low Score Help Advice Please!!

I am an undergraduate electrical engineering student.
I just took the GRE general and I got a 650V and 680Q. The essays went well.
I was getting 750+ on Q on all practice exams and I went and panicked like hell in the testing room. I am a horrible test taker. My math grades from all calc to linear to ode to probability are all A's.

My gpa is 3.46.

I have three great recommendations and great research and one first author publication.
My targets are Stanford, Cornell, UT Austin.
I am so ashamed of my score. I have no idea what I should do. Do you think I should retake the test in January?

I appreciate your help.

^BUMP^

any advice is useful. i dont know if i should waste my time taking it over. i have to send out apps to schools within 10days.

thanks in advance

That's an excellent balanced score! Unfortunately, my guess would be that E.E. doesn't exactly focus on being a great writer! ...Do you know where you lie in comparison to the means of the programs you're applying to?

Thanks for responding!

The mean for Quantitative is 750+ according to schools and according to ETS for EE it is 724.

It really is the fact that I am a horribly nervous test taker. I dont know why, its been true since I was 10 and standardized tests became the ticket to a good school.

I think I'll retake it in Jan no matter what, if even to just convince myself I am not a completely moronic engineer.

But, I dont know how it will hurt me. Any professors on talk confidential?

Retake it. The Q score won't make the cutoffs for Stanford or Cornell.
