Does anyone have any recommendations as to which GRE study book is best? My weakest subject is math and I need to do a lot of studying. I haven't done any math since college graduation in 2005. Thanks for suggestions.

I second the recommendation for Barron’s if you are looking for a solid review of math concepts. Use Kaplan’s or Princeton Review if you care more about learning tricks/ways of getting around solving the problem the math way and less about learning math. Barron’s does have some pretty good tips too, though, particularly for quantitative comparison.

I can second (or third) the recommendation for the GRE Math Bible. They call it something else now, GRE Math Prep Course or Nova’s GRE Prep Course.

My D improved her score to 770 on the real test from the 670 she was getting on the Powerprep tests after just working with it for less than a week. She said the book is over 500 pages, and she only had time to go over the 200 pages about geometry, which was about 80 problems with explanations and diagrams. She said it really helped her having many many problems to work on for the same concept.

I wish I had sent it to her earlier so she could have done the whole book.

I bought the Barron’s book too, but don’t know anything about it. I accidentally had it shipped to my nephew(!). He was quite confused when it showed up, as he isn’t planning to take the GRE.
