So I just got my score via the phone service. I took the bio subject test (760) and my percentile rank was a 79 %. Is that good enough to send to grad schools? All of my grad schools only recommended it so I was only going to send them if they were decent.

In the parlance of grad school admissions, I have heard that recommended = expected. You should be proud, 80 percentile is a good score. You scored higher than 79 percent of the other test takers. I bet a lot of those other 79 people are applying to grad school too.

"Recommended" does not mean expected. It really depends on the field you're applying to. In comp sci for example, many of the top 10 to 20 schools have all reported that their enrolled students have attained at least a 90%ile. But after some number crunching on ETS and matriculation figures (total test takers) it was impossible for that population size to have all fallen in the top 10%. It turned out that under half of those who enrolled had submitted their scores. Btw, a 79% is nothing to be ashamed of. Submit it unless they explicitly posted a much higher average on their website.
