If any of you have put booking your reservation off like we did, I thought I’d share that I just found that the new Crowne Plaza HY36 is $150/night and is located on 36th Street between 8th/9th Ave, which is less than a block from Pearl Studios. Just thought I’d pass it along in case anyone else was looking. It’s a really good rate for NYC and actually cheaper than most of the others in the area. BAL everyone!
We just stayed there for our daughter’s Fordham/Ailey dance audition. Very nice hotel. We ate dinner at Black Iron Burger, which was about 2 blocks away. Great burgers. If their breakfast spot is not yet open they will give you vouchers for a breakfast spot at the end of the block. The food was fine but the place is really small. You may want to send someone for take-out and eat in the lobby.
Check out the New Yorker Hotel. Historic, fascinating building, great location for Unifieds.
Hi @amom2girls how was your audition? We are auditioning in less than 2 weeks and its our first one. Rsvp for the empire hotel which is supposed to be 1 block from fordham. We aren’t doing anymore here so hope this is a good spot
@actingdreams My daughter was/is auditioning for a BFA in dance. I am so sorry to confuse anyone. Just chiming in on the hotel, which we enjoyed (and loved the price and newness;). Her auditions are going really well, though the Ailey audition and this weeks NYU audition should be the most difficult. Good luck!!
@amom2girls ahh ok great! I hope she does well! My sons gf just auditioned for NYU Dance here in Chicago yesterday (they hosted only 1 day here).
I have some details. If there is a dance post link to share her experience or you’d like to message me for any info, please chime in It lasted a total of 6 hrs for those who made the cut at 12 noon
@actingdreams please pm me and share! I don’t have a lot of information about their audition, except for dancers they have to make it through rounds and be invited to perform their solo! Appreciate your thoughts!!!
