Greek life for LGBT

<p>Hi guys, I am really interested in UCLA. Social life is very important to me, and after reading other posts, it seems like a lot of the social life freshman year is frat parties. One of the problems for me is that I am a gay. The idea of being in a fraternity appeals to me because it is kind of an immediate group of friends.</p>

<p>So my questions are:
1. Will being gay mean I will be excluded from the freshman social life?</p>

<p>Your character will probably play a larger role than being gay will. It’ll also depend how out you are to acquaintances. There’s a gay man’s frat on campus. Your mileage will vary. I would say that a lot of the social life freshman year is not frat parties. You’ll find life everywhere on campus.</p>
