?Greek Life

My son is considering the Univ of Rochester, does not want a school with significant fraternity presence. How is it at U of Rochester?

according to the students on the welcome panel during my SOC event, the greeks "have a presence, but not an overwhelming one by any stretch"

I know many people going to U of R next year with me are not partiers, and those who are are for the most part not crazy about it, as the students at Rochester generally put academics on the top of their priorities.

Greek life has a presence here but they are definitely not very significant. They mostly keep to the fraternity quad (the fraternities have their own housing section of the campus where most of the parties happen) and mostly only on weekends. And believe me: there are plenty of other fun things to do than to party at the frat quad.
