So I am a rising senior in high school who is considering applying to Dartmouth ED or Yale SCEA. I really loved both schools, for varying reasons that aren't important to this thread, but basically my biggest worry with applying to Dartmouth ED and (if I get accepted) locking off all of my other options is the Greek Scene. I have read the 2012 article, and I have heard as many people discredit it as reinforce it. While I am sure that fraternities are what you make of them and that different people will have had different experiences, I would like to know what it is really like now before I apply. I like that rush is delayed until sophomore year, but has the school done anything to mitigate hazing and make it a better experience? I know that most students leave the school saying they loved Dartmouth, but would anyone mind sharing their frat/sorority experience just so I can know what I might be getting myself into? Thank

My son, who is a rising junior at Dartmouth, told me that if Dartmouth dumped the frats, he would dump Dartmouth. He loves Dartmouth, but a very big part of Dartmouth for him is his fraternity.
