All the classes I want to take are going to be filled up before i get to orientation, well not the cluster i want but everything else, my language and my other ge i want to take. My question is: if i can get on the waitlist is there a good chance Ill get in? And I'm pretty sure that im not getting in ling 1 how is MCD 40 for a bio science ge?

language waitlists are usually let in. no idea about anything else. I got in normally, but my English 4w instructor was handing out ptes left right and centre so don't think that's much of a problem either.

my counselor told me that 10% of ppl on waitlists get in. he advised me not to apply to waitlists b/c you don't find out about the status until the 1st week. better to look @ other classes.

hmm one thing u can do is force concurrent enrollment in ursa =P then u'll be enrolled officially in ur backup corse as well as ur waitlist, u can then just drop the backup if u dont get a pte, and drop ur backup if u do while still being safe. Force concurrent enrollment allows enrollment in courses that occur at the same time.

thats bad advice. it COMPLETELY depends on the class/professor/ta (some profs will leave it up to the ta to decide how much more they want to grade = how many extra students to take on) and to some extent the department which can impose their own ultimatum on the professor not to go over a certain number.

sign up for the waitlist and go ahead and just sign up for another class and override the scheduling conflict if there is one. you should be able to sign up for 18 units no problem so use it to your advantage. sit in and see if you get in. you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
