GSP at NYU and transfers

i applied to NYU Stern and dont know if i will get in but i heard that there is a general studies program for some people who have been rejected from another NYU school. if i get into this program and decide to go will i be able to easily transfer into Stern or should i just go for another one of my 14 schools?

does anyone know the answer to my question?

i don't think stern applicants get admitted to the gsp program

My son and I went to the GSP info session a few weeks ago and there was only 1 stern applicant there. Everyone else had applied to CAS. One cannot apply to the GSP. An applicant is offered admission rather than being rejected outright to the school applied to. I would think that if you haven't been asked to attend the GSP program at this point that you would be waiting for admission to Stern RD and you will either be admitted to it, rejected or wait-listed. If you had been GSPed to Stern, then if you maintained a 3.0 GPA for the first 2 yrs- you would have been guaranteed admission to Stern. However, I was told that going from the GSP as a CAS applicant and attempting to transfer to Stern was nearly impossible. No one in the last 2 yrs has done that. I was told this by the Associate Dean- I think his name was Schwarzbach (very nice and committed guy). BTW- we were impressed by the GSP program as explained to us and my son has a difficult decision to make in the next few weeks. Good Luck to you!

You can get GSP'ed from Stern? Would your GSP courses be pre-Stern courses? That's weird.
