GT OOS or PSU/Pitt In-State?

Well hello there, I am currently a junior in highschool and am trying to decide on where I want to go to college. I got a 1920 on my SAT's and I know I could probably get in to Pitt and PSU based on my senior friends. I want to major in some type of engineering, and I am wondering if it would be more practical to go to GT OOS or Pitt/PSU In-state. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Pitt and Penn State are both good schools. In particular, I’ve been very impressed with the Pitt engineers that I’ve met.

Your best bet at the point is to just identify the colleges that you might want to attend, apply, then wait for responses. Once you see where you’re accepted and what sort of financial aid/scholarships/grant each school is offering, then you can make the final decision where to go. In the meantime, try to visit each school and see where you seem to fit. Asking other people isn’t really a good way to judge because everyone has different preferences and will draw different conclusions about the better school based on those.

All great schools. Penn state would be sick though. Football games would be so fun. And i hear they have a great ice cream place…

You’re one step ahead of yourself. Agree with BanjoHitter. You can’t really choose before you apply, unless you’re certain of your choice and chances of getting in.

However, it would probably be more “practical” (from a cost perspective) to stay in-state assuming you get accepted and don’t get aid at GT.

Ice cream on Pitt’s campus is better. No lie. Dave & Andy’s: was ranked as one of the top 10 non-chain ice cream shops in the nation by USA Today.
