GT vs. Waterloo for CS

I know it is uncommon for such comparisons, but I'm a Canadian citizen so Waterloo is much cheaper. I also know that UWaterloo is known for their CS program as well. I am admitted to UWaterloo's Software Engineering Co-op. I'm also in GT for Archi (except switching majors at GT is very convenient, at least for the first time)

Does anybody know things about how exactly I can compare the two schools?

Thanks =).

The University of Waterloo is an excellent school, especially for CS. Personally, if it is significantly cheaper, I would just go there. I would say GT is, on the whole, regarded as slightly more “prestigious” that U. Waterloo, but they are certainly institutions of a similar caliber, and for CS U. Waterloo is outstanding. Waterloo and Tech both have top-notch co-op programs as well. In Canada, Waterloo is probably more well-known as well, so if you intend to work there that is something to keep in mind.

Other considerations, such as climate, campus atmosphere/student experience, job opportunities in the area you wish to work, etc… are obviously all personal things you have to make a decision on. I wouldn’t spend significantly more just to come to Tech though. That would seem silly to me.

One of the reasons I am considering Tech is because their CS program has the “Threads” feature, which makes the program much more customizable than UWaterloo’s program.
Any suggestions =)?

Anybody? I’d really appreciate some help =)!

I don’t think it’s worth paying full-freight as an international to study CS at GT when you have Waterloo as an option for much less. If you didn’t have Waterloo, it would be worth it but not when you do.

Thanks a lot!
By the way, does anybody know how customizable CS can be with the Threads feature? Anybody taking it?
