I have a reccomendation from the top Economics Professor in SFS (I know him very very very personally, the Reccomendation was 2 pages long)

It starts out "Of the 10 years being a Georgetown professor, I have not once written a letter regarding an Undergraduate student, however, (my name)......"

He read over my essays and said they are one of the best college essays he has ever read. (One depicts my unusual past...Father was abducted never to be seen again, he was a political activist)
He was also part of the Adcom for a few years and claimed that they are his friends.

People will say you have low test scores, but I say to heck with them because you sound like a truly awesome person! You've pulled yourself out of a difficult situation and clearly excelled when you challenged yourself your junior and senior years, and to have someone so impressive write a great rec about you is awesome. You're also clearly very involved. I think you have a great chance and good luck!

it's really hard to say, but with all the crazy circumstances that you've been through and your success despite it, if you get in, you would be truly deserving of it (in my books, you're in). I wish you the best of luck

thanks
I called admissions and they said they accept January 26th SAT scores, so I will be taking them. hopefully I can get something better than a 26.
any others?

You know, with your stats, I'd normally call it a very long shot. However, providing they decide you can handle the academic workload (hopefully your latest grades will support that), I think you might have a good shot. Either way, as an URM with such unusual circumstances, you might win over your readers like you did most of the posters.

bashi, are you from libya because i heard if your from northern africa you cant put african american on your app? i have egyptian friends and they were told if youre from northern africa u have to put caucasian
