Guaranteed Admission Program. Possible typo in app?

Hi folks. The application for the Guaranteed Admission Program has an essay that asks “Why do I want to become a doctor?”. The problem is that it asks for the essay to be 600-700 characters.

Is it supposed to ask for an essay that is 600-700 words?

Thanks

Son just submitted. 600 words for sure.

if you try and submit more than 600 words it tell you he limit is 600 words, based on this it implies the limit is 600 words

@hailtopitt1787 A question for you. My D is an applicant to the GAP, however after she submitted the Pitt application (and got admitted) she received her Subject SAT scores for Biology. Should she send official SAT scores again or just send her Subject SAT Bio scores through an email.

Will the GAP consider Subject SAT Bio scores for interviews?

To my best knowledge, Pitt does not care you SAT Subject(s). Pitt Medicine GAP too. The most important factors for GAP are rigorous high school courses, stellar recommendation letters, outstanding community services, and solid research experiences for getting the interview, and then GL.

@dudefromnowhere, The School of Medicine has a great page that walked you through exactly what they are looking for at each level of the GAP application process: http://www.medadmissions.pitt.edu/admissions-requirements/guaranteed-admissions.php

Our website also walks you through the process in great detail: https://oafa.pitt.edu/who-fits-at-pitt/guaranteed-admissions-programs/medicine-gap/

Hope that helps!

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

Thanks Folks!
