Guaranteed Program Admission

Hey Quick question!

I wasn’t sure if you needed a 33 for the reading and math or 33 for the English (grammar) and the math. I went to a admissions program discussion and they said 33 for math and the reading part so I just wanted to confirm. I’m at a 34 for reading and math but at a 32/33 for english. Not even sure about the english because i’m still waiting for the september act scores with the essay. And do you guys know if they send the GAP form if you just meet the requirements or do you need other stuff?

Thanks!

Your current ACT score at the very bottom line. If you talk about gap in medicine, your rank in your class is very important. If you are the very top of your class, you will have a chance for the invitation. Pitt only invites around 400 to 450 every year.

For ACT I believe they look at English and Math score.

ok thank you! I might contact them directly about it because they explicitly told all of us at the information day Reading and Math so i might confirm that with them…

Ok thank you! I go to a school where upitt takes literally everyone from my school for just regular admission… I want to get into the Guaranteed program but i do understand that i have low scores so theres a low chance… do u know if they only send the application if you meet the requirements or if they review the rest of your scores and classes and if they think your pretty high then they send it?

here is a thread from last year.

Pitt will superscore between ACT and SAT so they will consider the highest CR of SAT or English from ACT, and the highest math score from either test.

I’m assuming they send invitations to apply for GAP to applicants who meet the minimum criteria. Then these students send in supplemental information and some get invited for interview. Last year I think 10 were selected.

The GAP also requires a cumulative GPA of 3.75 all four year of premed study, which can be very difficult.

Students who meet the initial eligibility requirements are invited to compete for the Med GAP. I encourage you to check out our page about the program which has a detailed FAQ and other important information to help clarify how the application process works: https://oafa.pitt.edu/who-fits-at-pitt/guaranteed-admissions-programs/medicine-gap/
