Guaranteed Admissions for Dentistry

Hi guys!!! So I received a letter back in February about the Guaranteed Admission program for dentistry. The letter was extremely vague–it didn’t outright say “Congratulations” of “You have been accepted…” but later in the letter, it says “I am making you this offer…”. I assumed that it was an acceptance letter, but now I am a bit skeptical. I get a ton of emails/letters from Pitt everyday yet received nothing about the program besides that one letter. So I was wondering if anyone else who got admitted received any other info or anything else. Thank you in advance!!!

@kmushy97,

The Dental Guarantee letter is not quite an acceptance letter. There are a number of requirements eligible students must meet in their undergraduate career at Pitt in order to remain eligible for the GAP at the time that they graduate college. Therefore, the letter wouldn’t be offering you acceptance but would outline whether you are eligible to participate at this time (based on your academic achievements in high school) and that Pitt would like to offer you the opportunity to pursue this option throughout your undergraduate career. If you meet the requirements when you graduate college you will receive an acceptance letter at that time!

Here are the requirements: https://oafa.pitt.edu/who-fits-at-pitt/guaranteed-admissions-programs/dental-gap/

All that to say, if you have questions about the GAP or about your individual status (confirming whether or not you are indeed eligible to participate), please do not hesitate to contact our office. We can look up your account and let you know for sure: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.
