I remember seeing on a chance thread that MIT likes to stock up on girls during EA because EA girls are more likely to matriculate. To what extent is this true? Does MIT publish the statistics for EA anywhere?

Thanks!

MIT does not publish this data anywhere, and I believe people who say that are engaging in pure speculation.

The last time this question came up, I relayed it to Ben and Matt, and they said that the admission rates for each gender are the same from EA to RD. If females are accepted at a certain rate during EA, they'll be accepted at approximately that rate during RD, given normal yearly fluctuations -- they're not trying to accept a huge percentage of either gender EA.
