Guys deadline day is approaching real fast so if anyone can please assist me ASAP. it would be greatly appreciated.

Your chances are less than 10%… between the low number of international students admitted to many of the top schools… to you needing significant financial aid… the odds are against you.

BTW, the “top 35” universities are a collection of very, very different schools. I do not for a minute believe you would feel happy at all of them.

It’s complicated.

Where can you be admitted? Hard to know since test scores and grades are only a portion of how American schools - especially the top 35 nonpublic schools - make admissions decisions. Your SAT scores are a little on the low side for the really selective colleges, but that wouldn’t necessarily take you out of the running if you have fantastic extracurricular activities or talents, have stellar teacher/counselor recommendations and can write killer admissions essays. Do you have some interesting and outstanding activities you have been doing?

Which colleges will give aid to international students? Not many. Some will, though.

Tell us more about your extracurriculars/talents and essay writing.

Your stats seem awesome to me, I’m a senior in the US right now. Can you give me an idea of what field you want to go into? With that, I should be able to think of what colleges are looking for students like you

It doesn’t work that way.

You don’t get to ask for what you need. The universities tell you what they can give you IF they have any money to give to you anything. The schools don’t have an endless amount of money.

If you need 70% funding, and you are only satisfied with the top 35 schools, then your best option is to go to school in your country;

I intend to apply in the field of biochemistry akhtar

i think my English is pretty good and I am gonna great recommendations from my teachers. My activities mainly revolve around community services whereas I also have published a few articles for my school and a 2-3 organizations. i have also won an honorary mention on my documentary on Peace in a national competition

Sounds good; you are well rounded and have some interesting things to talk about in addition to your solid O and A levels. Start looking at which colleges you’re interested in will give substantial financial aid for international students - if you do a search on this site, you’ll find some threads which describe that.

Unless you’re a very gifted writer and can write great quality essays under pressure, you might want to limit the number of applications to 3-4 so you can do excellent quality work on those apps. Most of the top 35 schools require you to write essays that are unique to that school and the essays are a very important part of what they consider in their decision.

Also, since you’ll be pressed for time, only apply to the schools that don’t place much value on “demonstrated interest”. You will not have time to do well in that area (no visit, no contact, no history of inquiry or following their sites/letters), so that will put you out of the running. For example, Washington University St Louis got tired of being a backup for people who wanted to go to an Ivy and so it puts great store on whether you’ve demonstrated enough interest to show that WUStL really is your top pick and you’re not just fishing for merit money. Skip schools like that because your chances will be lower than at schools that don’t monitor demonstrated interest like Princeton.

Currently i am thinking of applying to liberal art colleges like Colby and Kenyon as they do not have any extra supplements

How much do you know about these schools? Your method above isn’t a good way of picking a college. Just so you know, Kenyon only enrolls about 25 international students a year.

It is actually 150 and they give aid to 59 international students.
I know I have a very slim chance at these universities and colleges but i want to try my best and hope for the best, just in case I have a backup plan in universities of my own homeland

They only enroll <500 students in total a year. 6% are international. Also, half of the class is already filled with ED acceptance.

@kakarot16786 Don’t know where you are getting your stats from. According to the latest Kenyon CDS “Enrolled non-resident aliens including first-time first year students: 96” 96/4 = average of 24/year which is completely consistent with what @Eeyore123 wrote: “Kenyon only enrolls about 25 international students a year.”

yea u gurs are spot on
i misread the information provided on the college board website
