GW/SBU vs. BU SMED

Hi guys!
By some miracle I was accepted into both of these programs (St. Bonaventure/GW and BU SMED). Both programs are fantastic, but I'm having a hard time deciding between the two.
BU is really expensive, but the med school is fantastic; with the SBU program, there's no MCAT requirement.

Between the two, which do you think it better? Any current students have opinions?

SBU/GWU will be my suggestion. No MCAT is really nice - remember your batch will be writing the MCAT in the new format. Also SBU is a great college.

go with BU. GWU and SBU is an 8 year program and GWU is the most ex*****ve med school in the country.

agree, always go the the best medical school you can unless there is a reason not to. Such as strong financial incentive

Location wise BU is better than SBU. Boston is a college town! Boston would offer you more opportunities for several activities, be it extra curricular, or curricular, or summer opportunities etc…

My family friend is in the SBU/GW program, I will give you my frank opinion. GW, as of last year, had the lowest acceptance rate of medical schools in the nation. That is pretty prestigious, BU is nowhere close in terms of prestige. You can’t beat the opportunities at D.C. Also, Dr. Knowles at SBU absolutely loves his students and SBU environment is truly unique. Coupled with the no MCAT and easy to maintain 3.6 GPA, this program is much, much better than BU’s competitive 7 years. I wish my daughter had been accepted here, but instead she was waitlisted after the GW interview. She will be attending PSU/JMC 6 year, instead. Best of luck and choose wisely.
