GW UndergradBusiness programs

I am a Accepted to Gw's school of business for international business. Yayayayy
Now heres the problem
I REALLY Love the school but my parents aren't convinced on the price tag.
They also feel that if I switch from International Business(which they know is highly rated) to another major(Marketing,Mmt...) that my degree will not be as highly valued and/or as good of an education.

They also want top make sure I can get a job after graduation. For this reason they are pushing Northeastern and Pennstate.

I'm looking for experiances/annecdotes really anything about GW's undergrad business programs and career services.
Thanks!

I am not sure about the school in particular, but international business, as a whole, is not a marketable major. It needs to be coupled with an actual business discipline (accounting, finance, IS, etc) in order to be of any use. Hence, you can go to South Carolina, the number one international business school, and still have a difficult time trying to get a job with an international business degree.

Highly agree here. Also, please note that business recruiters love “hard” majors. There are plenty of engineers, along with math and stat majors, that end up getting recruited for business and consulting jobs. IB by itself is not viable. The different between PSU NEU and GW is negligible if you only major in IB and have a 3.0 GPA. IB majors are a dime a dozen. However, if you do well in something “hard” your chances of success will improve greatly. See my other post about the business school for detailed info re: career services.
