Hey! I was wondering if people have been on the waitlist for GW before and what to do to get off? I mean its unranked so is the best way to get off is to show great interest?
Well, I assume you won’t hurt your chances by bugging the Admissions office. If I were on the waitlist I’d probably be contacting them at least once a week to see if there’s anything new. It might help if they remember who you are when it comes time to pick someone off the waitlist…
@NHuffer but a lot of websites tell us not to constantly contact the admissions office. I mean I really really REALLY want to go and if I constantly bug them I’m worried that it will hurt my chances
Well, maybe once every two weeks then, lol. I realize not wanting to bug them, but at the same time, there’s nothing wrong with making sure they don’t “forget” about you.
@NHuffer Ya i understand what you mean. but I’m still confused about the “unranked” is it they just pick whoever is on the list? also are you a current student at GW? (profile picture have to assume something hahaha)
@GWdreamteam1998 From what I understand, George Washington University selects students off the waitlist that are similar to students that rejected the spot for admission.
@Ifeanyi1 OH ok thanks for answering!! so i guess I’m hoping that someone like me rejects her acceptance ^:)^
You’re welcome! Yes, exactly!
@GWdreamteam1998 you might find these two articles from The Washington Post helpful.
@intparent was kind enough the other day to provide the links.

@saffysmum Thank you! I memorized the whole article (1st link) trying to get my self to GW standards and here I am waitlisted. The wait feels endless but hopefully if I get good results it would be totally worth it!!
