Hi, I was accepted to both GWU's Elliott School and Johns Hopkins. I am looking to study international relations during college and am having trouble deciding between the two. Any comments, opinions, insights? Thanks.

do u want a campus like JHU or a city like GW--both are good schools for international relations

jhu GENERALLY is more nerdy, less students, d3 sports, more competitive in general

gwu is the opposite- so really it's up to you. i think the programs are very similar in terms of what u will learn BUT JHU is a bit more prestigious as far as i know especially if your a SCIESE (spelling/pronunciation?) scholar or w/e

I heard JHU is really not a great undergrad experience for a lot of people.......GW is in DC, has a lot of foreign relations courses and seems to me a lot more fun

got to GW

JHU is great for IR, and it's, overall, a stronger school. Wneckid99 is referring to SAIS scholars. If you don't know, SAIS is Hopkins' school of advanced international studies and is on of the top two graduate schools of international relations (along with Georgetown SFS). In the sophomore year, qualified undergrads can apply to get a 5 years BA/MA with SAIS. It's a tough program to get into. But either way, I choose Hopkins. But I'm biased.

Hopkins is the choice, there is no comparison. JHU is on par with the Ivies, Northwestern, Chicago, Berkeley Stanford etc.
