I want to major in economics (potentially double major in econ+math) and eventually go to grad school. Both GWU and Northeastern Honors have the same environment, meaning they both are urban and they both have relatively the same comfort (NEU Honors students get special housing). They both also have wonderful internship opportunities, with NEU that has a co-op program and with GWU that is in middle of DC. I got about the same amount of finaid from both schools in proportion to their costs (GWU is more expensive and so I got proportionally more amount of $$ from them).

So which school will provide me with the best opportunity to do well and eventually go to a good grad school?

I would say GWU hands down. Besides being a more prominent school and one that everyone in the world practically seems to know and recognize (hey that is important like it or not) they have very different vibes. GW feels more serious while NE is more urban. Grad school, no brainer GW.
I wish you luck either way, they are both great schools but I think personally you shoudn't pass the opportunity to go to a better school. GW over NE.

I remember reading about someone who works in admissions for Harvard, who said something along the lines of...

"We are more likely to take a regular student at a good school than an honors student at a mediocre school".

I think it was in the WSJ.
