I knew that you will say, well DC indeed has loads of internships but there are also local internships in UCSD. Really, Do you guys think internships playing a large factor in undergraduate education but not more professionally ?
Well, I’ve personally seen two internships turn into jobs after graduation. I think that’s a huge perk along with actually getting to do what you’ve been studying to make sure it’s a good fit for you.
yea, i saw the point, but as an international student, i cannot sure they will offer me, a chinese, some assured and unique internships which might turn into jobs in the future. So i might think more about how can refine myself throgh studying in a strong liberal arts background just because politial science covers a lot of fields that many career choices when i am really considering my job

I don’t know for certain, but I don’t see why you being an international student would prevent you from having the same internship opportunities as American citizens. In the end, you’re a student of the university and students get internships. The only way you might NOT get a certain one is if it was with DoD or similar and required a security clearance, in which your citizenship would prevent you from obtaining certain levels. BUT… these kind of internships a few and far between, especially for undergrad students.
i know for fact that they give internships to Chinese nationals, you’ll be fine. and they’ll def be 100x more opportunities in DC over San Diego for poli sci
