So when I looked back on my FAFSA it had a red “x” on the parent demographic part and also had an “h” next to household size on the SAR and said your household size changed significantly from the previous year FAFSA. It changed by 1 and that was a correct change so should I be worried and might that have been a reason for my FAFSA to be verified even though it did not have an asterick next the EFC?
Needing to have your FAFSA verified is really nothing to worry about. Yes, changes will flag you for verification. My household size changed this year AND my EFC doubled (only 1 in college). I suspect this is why I was “selected.” It’s not a difficult process, however. Fill out the form the college sends you. Run the DRT. Done.
@ordinarylives how did you know the verification was completed? My status of my dependent verification sheet says “completed”
The college indicated it was and sent next year’s fin aid package.

Call the school. Some send out estimated packages.
