SAR acknowledgement??

I just got a letter from Fed student aid with an "SAR acknowledgement". Is that the same as the SAR? I'm kind of confused.

Also, mine was selected for verification. What do they do to verify the info that I sent them? We haven't filed taxes yet, so it's obviously not going to be correct. I planned on changing it online once our taxes came in. Can anyone help?

If you are selected for verification (@ 30% of FAFSAs are) it is your school(s) that will request documentation from you. When we have been verified we have had to complete a form sent to us by the school and provide copies of signed tax returns (parent and student), W2s, and any 1099s for untaxed income (my husband is retired so has SS pension income). You will not be able to complete the verification process until your taxes are completed and you have updated FAFSA to reflect this.

Okay, thanks. So, should I wait for the verification thing to go through before using what I have to apply for scholarships?

No. Go ahead and apply for scholarships now.
