<p>Here is one I saw in today's paper: Isn't there a date after which for D1 they can sign letter of intent? </p>

<p>BTW, verbal committments are all PR. The National letter of intent is the actual binding commitment to attend.</p>

<p>I remember reading in the paper in early Sept. about a player who "will be attending Boston College on a full scholarship." Seems like it was a big no-no to print and now future comments about this player just say "verbally committed" to B.C.</p>

<p>My D has "verbally committed" to a school, but that will be based on whether or not she gets officially admitted and if she gets in writing exactly what has been promised to her moneywise.</p>

<p>Coaches are limited by NCAA rules as when they can contact students- for most sports after July 1st following junior year. However athletes can contact coaches and make unofficial visits. There have been several cases where athletes especially basketbal players have made verbal committments and changed their mind before signing a NLI.</p>
