Haas Transfers 2007 *STATS*

Figured I'd bump this... working on the supp app now. Essay questions suck imo.

GPA is up to 3.95, hopefully interning at ML this semester.

Can't believe we have to wait four more months!

i cannot tell you how ecstatic i am about the second question. it was like a gift from god. it came down to me and said: work on this essay or you are toast. i love haas.

Wow you went from a 3.9 to a 3.95 in one semester?? How many units do you have? If you had 30 units previously with a 3.9 you would have to take 30 more units and get a 4.0 in order to get a 3.95...

Well, you're nearly there. To get from a 3.9 (I had a 3.91), you have to nearly double your unit total, but not quite, before it rounds up. I didn't have 30 units at the time, either. And this assumes all units tug at GPA equally.

But the class I got a B in was also 3 unit class, one of the few I've taken so it isn't hard to understand why it has had a diminished impact on my GPA since then.

Here are the details: 217/55 = 3.9454545454 (tqp)/(tunits) = gpa
So if you'd prefer, 3.945, but who wants to see that? As of my last posting I said I projected a 3.94, and then I signed up for two extra classes =D.

You're lucky biz, imo both of the questions are about as interesting as a lobotomy. Never much for old navy's innovation and creativity.

ohh You don't really have a lot of units. That makes more sense..I was thinking since you had the breadth done already that was like 27 units right there. I have almost 80 units so my gpa maybe moves up by like .01 if I get straight A's LOL.

What do you mean units having unequal weight? One unit is one unit...

Yeah I understand =P

I had almost all (maybe all) my breadth done in highschool test scores before I even started my first class at CC, so I took it pretty easy.

In any case it sounds like you have a very good chance! I am so excited for May!

As far as the RESUME is concerned, how is everyone filling this portion out. It is very similar to the Application in regards to the layout but as far as the "responsibilities" are concerned are you going to just copy and paste from your app or make it more formal... also...are you going to put it into chronological order or alphabetical like the UC app put it???????????????????

I have a question...

when you guys said preq done by time of app...does that include the fall semester? I am assuming so otherwise I would be really behind for next year......

and I would also like to ask how likely do you think i can get in haas with these stats?

gpa: 4.0 from ccc
honors scholar
80-87 units (would this hurt my chances?)
igetc: done by spring
preq by fall
bredth 7/9 by spring (will this keep me out?)
ec: web developer, domain broker, works part time for two companies, ptk (is the ec strong enough?)
essays: i hope its stellar but who knows...

i think i would have a decent shot at haas with those stats but its really my dream and i would just like a little reassurance/reality check on what you guys think regarding my chances (be as specific as possible please)

Appreciated

anyone about my comment above??????

I intend to copy and paste it off my resume, which was essentially what I did for the other thing... so yeah, similar here.

Trivia, you've got just about as good a shot as anyone can hope for, maintain the GPA. You've got plenty of units, anything over 60 is safe FYI.

So basically everyone on this site has their head on straight, has their stuff together, and are all great candidates for acceptance to HAAS.

How many people do you know from your CC who are applying to HAAS that you feel are great candidates but are not participating on this site?

I know about 50 international students with high GPA's but they are at a disadvantage b/c they are international.

I know about 5 other people who seem to be good candidates. Good EC's, GPA's etc.

Couple people at my school with equal/better stats than any of us here :/

Many worse off as well, though.

Alright that's it kids. The paperwork is finally in. Good luck to everyone!!!

AHHHHHHHH i need a double shot of grey goose!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll take it with you!!!!

Just stopping by and visiting. I remember what it was like going through this same stage last year. From what i've seen on this thread, most of you have a solid chance of getting into Haas (I hope you can get some encouragement from that). However, for some of you, it might come down to the essay.

mschop..what were your stats....i hope the essays play more of a role than the GPA....

My stats are like every other haas student that transfers.

Basically, if you have a 3.7+, you are in the pool that they look at. From there, they look at your resume and essay.
